Over time, an international consensus on 'best practice' for developing a range of guidelines has been reached in many areas. However, there are always new challenges for guideline developers. Sustainability is one of those increasingly important challenges as it is for healthcare professionals, government policy-makers, organisational leaders, patients and citizens.1 © Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2023.
