摘要
A number of the monuments among the rich heritage of Old Russian wall painting carries traces of pigment degradation. These changes convert the overall coloration, and thus create new, but in reality, false effects of artistic perception, far away from the author's conception. The group of specialists investigated the wall paintings of five medieval Russian monuments of the 12th-16th centuries. Comprehensive studies using various physico-chemical methods data provide an opportunity to determine the composition of pigments used by the artists. Digital technology helped to reconstruct and visualize the supposed original view of old works of art.& COPY; 2023 Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR). Published by Elsevier Masson SAS.
