Designing architectural interventions for many species that function and are hospitable for a variety of occupants, creating convivial habitats at a range of scales, is a preoccupation of Brooklyn-based Harrison Atelier. Founder and principal Ariane Lourie Harrison leads us through some of the design collective's award- winning projects. As well as encouraging animal inhabitants, the firm's architecture is also smart, observing and recording activity to register data often not previously available.
