"THIS IS SOMETHING SO POWERFUL, TERRIBLE, STRONG AND HORRIBLE": AGAIN ABOUT THE "SERBIC" PORTRAIT OF PETER THE GREAT

The article is devoted to one of the most mysterious portraits of Peter the Great. The portrait in the 19th century was in the Serbian monastery Velikaya Remeta on Fruska Gora, in 1880 it entered the Imperial Hermitage (Russia). Until today, there is no exact information about the time of creation of the portrait and the name of the artist, but the unusual interpretation of the image of the first Russian emperor and the unique fate of the portrait attract the attention of Serbian and Russian researchers. The significance of this masterpiece has not diminished over the years - it is no coincidence that in 2022, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great, the Serbian Post issued a postage stamp with a face value of 85 dinars depicting the "Serbian" portrait of Peter.
