摘要
This paper seeks to analyze the Amazon portrayed in The End of the Third World (1990) by the Amazonian writer Marcio Souza and its counterpoint in the connection established with The Lost World (1912) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, addressing the contrast between the fantastic fictional Amazon of the British author, full of supernatural beings and endless adventures and the reproduction of the reality of the author from Manaus, his dilemmas, social inequalities and reflections about the facts that permeate this land. The analysis will show that Souza creates an Amazon that, although it is inspired by his own experience, is also capable of dialoguing with a fantastic past.
