摘要
A 15 year follow up of the Prostate Testing for Cancer and Treatment (ProtecT) trial,[1] which was a phase III, multicenter randomized control trial performed in the UK, was recently published. The trial had recruited men aged 50.69 years, with clinically localized prostate cancer(PCa), detected on community.based PSA screening, and had randomly assigned them to undergo either active monitoring (AM) (n = 545), radical prostatectomy (RP) (n = 553), or radiotherapy (RT) (n = 545). The primary outcome measure was death from prostate cancer, and the secondary endpoints were all.cause mortality, metastasis, initiation of long.term androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and complications from radical treatment. © 2023 Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications.
