摘要
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an infertility-causing disease commonly occurring in reproductive age females. As the name indicates, the condition involves ovaries with many cysts. The global prevalence of PCOS in women is between 15% and 20%. Several metabolic and endocrine problems are associated with this illness. Nanotechnology has given birth to new aspirations for addressing today's human concerns, and it has been employed to aid prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of PCOS. Nanomaterials have intriguing traits and ca-pacities, such as desired size, faster transit through biological barriers, greater solubility, and enhanced reac-tivity. This study aims to provide a brief overview of nanomaterials and nanotechnology applications in treating and diagnosing women with PCOS. We first review the studies that harnessed medicines produced based on nanotechnology for treating PCOS. Then, we describe recent approaches in the drug delivery nanosystems in PCOS. Furthermore, we provide information about the protective effects of nanoparticles in this disorder. Lastly, we introduce how this technology might help health keepers in the early detection of PCOS.
