Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE), including pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT), is known to occur frequently during the perioperative period. Particularly, patients with oral cancer (CC) who undergo reconstructive surgery are at risk of VTE in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Additionally, chemotherapy is an independent risk factor for thromboembolic events in patients with cancer. Case Presentation: In this report, we present three cases that developed PE during OC treatment. One case developed PE during chemotherapy, and the other two cases developed PE and DVT during chemoradiotherapy and the perioperative period. Conclusion: Before treatment, the risk assessment should be undertaken in patients with OC who undergo surgery or chemotherapy.
