摘要
This article deals with the relationship between theatre, one of the main leisure activity in the 19th Century, and the utopia. Both, written texts and performances changed space and time standards showing images laden with utopian meaning. Futhermore, halls became a place where everything was feasible. Emotional weight of plays enhanced in the audience the feeling of belonging to an ideal community. That feature encouraged the States to take advantage of theatre in order to create a virtuous citizenship, although it also tried to check its behaviour to avoid political and social disturbing consequences of grasping utopian worlds inside the halls.
