摘要
Cadmium sulfide (CdS) quantum dots were successfully synthesized via the organometallic route utilizing high temperatures-the synthesized QDs characterized using the transmission electron microscope TEM, UV spectrophotometer, and spectrofluorometer. The quantum dots have the same size and different amounts impeded in the glassy phosphate matrixes. Glass batch of the nominal composition of xZnO-(70-x)P2O5-15BaO-10Na(2)O-5CdS successfully synthesized via traditional melt quenching route. The role of ZnO retraced, and the values of the optical band gap were estimated and found to be gradually decreased with ZnO content. Other optical parameters, including the refractive index also calculated, then their behaviors were interpreted. Linear dependence of density and molar volume with ZnO content was also observed. Density was found to be dependent on the zinc oxide content (density varied from 2.814 up to 3.313 g/cm(3)) for x = 20 to 40 mol%, while the molar volume changed from 42.287 to 32.249. The PL measurements strongly correlate the intensity with the CdS QD concentration.
