摘要：

In this article, we have compared the Salvador Allende's and Hugo Chavez's discourses of socialism and democracy. We have used the government programs of both presidents as sources. To carry out the research, we have used the methodologies of discourse analysis and comparative history. We have con-cluded that both Allende and Chavez have constructed original discourses about socialism, which have been interconnected with democracy.
