Analysis of Mass Transfer Kinetics at Lipid Bilayer Membranes of Liposome by Means of Electrokinetic Chromatography and Moment Theory

摘要
A method was developed for the kinetic study of mass transfer phenomena in liposome electrokinetic chromatography (LEKC). It was tried to analyze structural characteristics of cortisone peaks measured in LEKC systems using three types of liposomes by assuming that solute permeation or adsorption at lipid membranes takes place. The combination of LEKC and moment theory was effective for the kinetic study of mass transfer phenomena of solute at lipid membranes. Compared with other conventional techniques, the method has some advantages. For example, mass transfer phenomena at the real lipid bilayer of liposomes can be analyzed. The method is effective for the kinetic study of mass transfer phenomena at lipid membranes from various perspectives because its principle is based on the analysis of separation behavior in LEKC systems, which is different from those of the other methods.
