摘要
Linear television channels have been forced to reconsider their broadcasting strategy in response to the emergence of new media players. This research addresses the offering and consumption of videos on YouTube from the regional channels that comprise the Federation of Regional Radio and Television Organisations (FORTA), which are influenced by budgets and resources that are very different from those of other audio-visual actors. In the first phase, an analysis was carried out regarding the offering of these channels on this platform. Afterward, viewing was monitored and compared with the audience data collected by comScore, in order to confirm the strategy used by these traditional broadcasters in offering new viewing outlets. The results point to a wide variety of format offerings, yet with a lack of exclusive content. Moreover, the most prevalent access route is through the smartphone.
