Investigation of multifunction features of double perovskite oxide A2FeVO6 (where A = Ba, Ca)

摘要
The multifunctional materials are very fascinating among the research community as they find wide applications in various sectors. In some multifunctional materials, ferroelectric and magnetic ordering is found to exist simultaneously. Among the limited class of such multifunctional materials, the double perovskite oxides are most emerging ones. In view of this, we have synthesized and investigated the multifunctional features of DPO materials A2FeVO6 (where A = Ba, Ca). The XRD investigation reveals the studied samples Ba2FeVO6 and Ca2FeVO6 were crystallized in monoclinic and orthorhombic structures respectively. The morphological investigation of A2FeVO6 (where A = Ba, Ca) carried out through scanning electron microscope illustrates the grain concentration in Ca2FeVO6 was found relatively high compared to Ba2FeVO6. The XPS spectra identify the valency fluctuation and oxygen vacancies in the investigated samples. Besides some prominent interaction channels Fe2+O-Fe2+ and Fe2+-O-Fe3+ are identified through XPS analysis. The UV-Visible spectroscopy of the investigated samples reveals the visible light sensitivity and n-type semiconducting feature of Ca2FeVO6 is relatively better compared to Ba2FeVO6. The dielectric spectroscopy of the investigated samples clarifies the mixed polarization in the system. The overall dielectric features of Ca2FeVO6 seemed relatively better compared to Ba2FeVO6. The leakage current in Ca2FeVO6 is found relatively high compared to Ba2FeVO6. The ferroelectric features of the investigated samples are identified through P-E loop analysis. The ferroelectricity in Ca2FeVO6 was found relatively weak due to enhancement of OV in Ca-based DPO. The weak ferromagnetic features of the investigated samples at room temperature are also revealed through M - H loop analysis.
