The main objective of this article is to review the authoritarian legacy of the Uruguayan dictatorship from a feminist perspective, focusing the analysis on the conservative interventions of the present and the past. The article analyzes reverberations and continuities. The analysis of gender conservative strategies in the Uruguayan dictatorship and in the current conservative backlash focuses on its main referents, the adversaries invoked, the assets to be safeguarded and the strategies deployed. It works with press and parliamentary debates.
