摘要
Background and Objective: In the last past decades, cardiovascular disease affects the life quality of patients and increases mortality and morbidity. Lycoperoside H (LH) is an alkaloidal phytoconstituents of tomato and exhibited antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Scrutinize the cardioprotective and anti-atherosclerosis effect of LH against high-fat diet (HFD) and vitamin D3 induced AS in rats. Materials and Methods: Wistar rats were selected for the current study and rats received the HFD and intraperitoneal administration of vitamin D3 (600000 U kgG1) to induce the AS in the rats and orally treated with LH. The body weight and organ weight like hepatic and heart weight were estimated. Cardiac, lipid, cytokines and antioxidant parameters were estimated. The LH treatment remarkably decreased body weight and liver weight and increased hepatic weight. The LH considerably (p < 0.001) suppressed the level of creatine kinase (CK), Creatine Kinase-MB (CK-MB), Cardiac Troponins I (cTnI), Cardiac Troponins T (cTnT) and altered the level of lipid parameters viz., triglyceride, High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), total cholesterol, Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL), Very Low-Density Lipoprotein (VLDL) and TC/HDL and LDL/HDL ratio. Results: The LH remarkably suppressed the level of Apolipoprotein A (Apo A), Apolipoprotein B (Apo B), HMG CoA/Mevalonate ratio, collagen, total protein, calcium and free fatty acid (FFA). The LH treatment significantly (p < 0.001) altered the level of antioxidants and cytokines level. The LH treatment significantly (p < 0.001) suppressed the level of Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 (VCAM-1), Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1 (MCP-1), respectively. Conclusion: The LH treatment assuaged HFD-induced inflammation and oxidative stress in AS rats.
