摘要
Feeding problems are exceedingly common among children with a history of prematurity, and in many cases, this difficulty is present at birth. Work establishing oral intake is a milestone for this patient cohort that begins in the NICU; a subset of patients will develop a feeding tube dependence and food refusal and seek treatment at a IMFI program. Although available evidence suggest that IMFI holds benefit for patients with prematurity, more research is needed to determine the feeding therapy journey for preterm patients occurring outside these subspecialty programs.
