Quality of life among Grade1 knee osteoarthritis patients

摘要
Objective: To assess the quality of life of the elderly population with grade 1 knee osteoarthritis.Methodology: It was a cross sectional descriptive study, which was conducted in the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. We included 384 patients through sequential non-probability sampling. Data was entered in terms of WOMAC and was analyzed using SPSS20.Results: BMI in majorly was between 35 to 40 showing that most patients were overweight and among them were more females. Pain in the knees while walking was experienced by 64% of the respondents and 94% experienced extreme pain during stair climbing. Physical functional activity was restricted in 72% patients. For Quality of life, WOMAC scale showed physical functioning score to be 18.48 indicating that physical functioningwas poor.Conclusion: There was a strong direct association between the less education and less perception regarding quality oflife. People with level of education if indulged inhealthyphysicalactivities, higher impacts can begained.
