Lanthanum substituted barium spinel ferrites, enhancement in various properties nanocrystalline ferrites

摘要
Spinel ferrites got attraction due to their soft magnetic nature. A series BaLax- Fe2-xO4; where 0:0 <= x >= 0.10 was fabricated via sol gel technique of auto-combusion. The characterization of the prepared nanomaterials was done by using x-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and DC-electrical resistivity. The formation of the FCC spinel phase was accepted by XRD findings of the synthesized samples. It was determined that the lattice constant rose while size decreased by lanthanum ions substitutions, and that this influence of lanthanum ions on crystallite size, lattice constant, grain size, lattice constant, and bulk densities can be attributed to ionic size of the crystals. With increasing lanthanum content, there was a general tendency for both dc-resistivity and activation energies to increase. The temperature-dependent resistivity and activation energy decreased with increasing temperature. The magnetic properties presented that all the samples have soft magnetic nature. The high values of magnetic coercivity of La-substituted barium-based ferrites are crucial in high-frequency applications.
