摘要
The early Aptian succession of the Atherfield Clay Formation (Lower Greensand Group) at the type section of Atherfield Point on the Isle of Wight (UK) has been systematically sampled for isolated microvertebrate remains. Amongst the chondrichthyan component of the fauna are two new carcharhiniform sharks having affinities with the scyliorhinids, here described as Pteroscyllium downesi sp. nov. and Vectiscyllium atherfieldensis gen. et sp. nov.
