摘要
Chronic pain is a common condition. Diagnostic and treatment can contribute to the development of chronic pain (iatrogenization). Different mechanisms of iatrogenization have been described. Knowledge about these mechanisms is essential to avoid or minimize the effect that iatrogenization has on our patients. By presenting a typical case from an inpatient multimodal therapy concept, different mechanisms of iatrogenization will be demonstrated and strategies to avoid these pitfalls discussed.
