HERITAGE, IDENTITY AND CULTURE OF PEACE FROM DIDACTICS OF THE HUMANITIES

Current educational policies give priority to the defense of identity, the development of patriotic feelings, attitudes and civic values in accordance with the social model that is built, taking local, regional and national historical memory among its referents. Their expressions, manifestations and resources constitute an area that generates programs and projects linked to training processes with territorial and community connotations used in their treatment in close connection with public and institutional policies. The objective of the Project: Heritage, Identity and Culture of Peace from the Didactics of the Humanities has been to contribute to the formation of the young generations and their contribution in the development of the different communities. The qualitative methodology through action research made it possible to study the active role of the subjects, based on the problems that arise in practice, transform the investigated object, taking into account the link between research and social innovation with local development. As main results, a considerable group of investigations, books, monographs and articles have been achieved. Contributions to regional and local history with research and studies carried out by students in the central region of the country; different prizes obtained among which the CITMAS stand out in the categories: young researcher, scientific research and social innovation, from the National Union of Historians of Cuba; postgraduate courses taught to teachers based on the results obtained from the investigations and the methodological and curricular improvement of the subjects of both careers.
