摘要
In the present work, the influences of non-isothermal aging (NIA) and isothermal aging (T6 treatment) on mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of nickel-aluminide reinforced Al-Cu-Mg aluminum alloy composite cladding have been investigated. The claddings were performed using the AA2024 mechtrod by friction surfacing process. Results show that using NIA treatment, the hardness and strength increased significantly compared to T6 treatment, regardless of the type of claddings. The hardness and strength measurements of nickel-reinforced containing cladding after NIA treatment were 16.4% and 9% higher than for the T6 treatment, respectively. Additionally, by applying NIA treatment, the corrosion behavior of the claddings with and without nickel-aluminide is 64% and 50% superior compared to the Al-Cu-Mg alloy substrate.
