EDUCATION AND TEACHING PRACTICE: the place of the body in student learning in the Amazon region

摘要
This study investigated the meanings attributed to the body by Elementary School II students from a school located in the rural territory of Santarem, in the Para Amazon and, from the perspective of these children, we sought to know how they evaluate the relationship between body and teaching practice. The theoretical chain of the study was built on the foundations of Embodiment, which comprises the human being in its complexity, totality and that can be projected in life with intentions. The qualitative research was structured in two methodological stages: bibliographical and field research, to carry out the second stage, the Technique of Elaboration and Analysis of Units of Meaning, developed by Moreira, Simoes and Porto (2005), was the basis of data production and analysis. Nine students from a municipal school participated in the research. It was concluded that such students understand the body as a physical aspect and the home of the Holy Spirit. As bodily subjects in the classroom, they claim that school practices value the mind more than the body.
