摘要：

Despite the complex H & N anatomy, image-guided procedures are increasingly being used for superficial and deep neck lesions as an alternative to open biopsy. Image-guided techniques are relatively more straightforward, diagnostically expeditious, and very safe. However, this requires detailed anatomical knowledge along with expertise and experience. Dedicated H & N radiologists or radiologists with expertise in H & N anatomy and pathology can best contribute to the multidisciplinary teams caring for these patients. With the ever-growing demand for molecular markers and genetic testing, a large increase in the number of these procedures is expected over the next decade.
