In the present study the sensing behavior of pure graphitic carbon nitride (gCN) and silver nanoparticles decorated gCN (Ag-gCN) is investigated towards ethanol vapors. The XRD, HRTEM and EDS study confirms the successful synthesis of gCN and Ag-gCN. The sensing response (100 ppm) of pure gCN enhances to 14.87 % from 6.67 % with the addition of Ag. The response/recovery time also reduces to several folds for Ag-gCN. The sensor also shows good linearity and stability.
