摘要
Over the last decade, the categorical classification of personality disorders (PD) was replaced by a "lifespan perspective " with an increasingly dimensional approach. Significantly for children and adolescents, PD are accordingly now seen as disorders that can affect the entire lifespan. This innovation paves the way for possible early treatment and potentially even prevention of PD in children and adolescents. In routine clinical practice, however, a diagnosis of PD in this age group is still often viewed critically. This special issue seeks to contribute to providing a clearer picture of PD in adolescence. The aim is to ensure that a diagnosis of PD is not seen as stigmatizing young people, but rather as an opportunity to detect problematic developmental trajectories at an early stage and to prevent or treat them in a targeted manner. The articles in this issue focus on borderline personality disorder (BPD) in adolescence.
