摘要
Health literacy plays a critical role in cancer care for patients and caregivers, as it directly influences treatment adherence, patient satisfaction, decision-making, and overall wellbeing. This research delves into the obstacles faced by cancer patients and caregivers in Romania when it comes to understanding health information and making informed choices about their care. The study aims to explore the effects of health literacy on aspects of cancer care by using a questionnaire distributed across three support groups on Facebook. The findings from this study have the potential to guide the development of strategies that can enhance education, support and communication. Ultimately these could lead to improvements in health outcomes and quality of life for both cancer patients and their caregivers. Additionally, this research sheds light on the challenges faced by cancer patients and caregivers in Romania providing valuable insights, for healthcare professionals, policymakers and patient advocacy groups who are working towards meeting the specific needs of this population.
