A stable Zn(II) based metal-organic complex as a sensitive and selective fluorescent probe for IO4-

摘要
Periodate (IO4-) is widely used in industry and is related to food and environmental safety. Therefore, the selective and sensitive detection of IO4- is important. In this paper, a metal-organic complex fluorescent probe ZnDBD-SA was synthesized by post-synthetic modification with the condensation reaction of aldehyde and amino group. Zn-DBD-SA is stable after immersed in pure water for 15 days and in the pH range of 3-11. As a fluorescent probe, it shows good selectivity and anti-interference for detecting IO4-. And the detection limit is 6.36x10(-8) mol center dot L-1, which is the lowest among fluorescent probes based on metal-organic complex. The detection mechanism is attributed to the competitive absorption of energy between Zn-DBD-SA and IO4- and the formation of hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, the probe can be used to detect IO4- in real samples such as salt and kelp solutions.
