In the Basic Education of Ecuador, School Projects are framed in the scientific action field and should be aimed at obtaining as a result an interdisciplinary product related to the interests of students, which demonstrates the knowledge and skills obtained throughout the school year, and transversely promote values, collaboration, entrepreneurship and creativity. The areas that will serve as the axis for the formulation of these projects are Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. This paper proposes a project-based procedure for the environmental education of Ecuadorian middle school students, which is based on the project-based learning method. It expresses as a scientific novelty the establishment of a connection between teaching with the work and community environment. A qualitative documentary research was carried out based on the methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, document review and the system approach. It can be used at national level with flexibility and the corresponding curricular adaptability.
