Approaches for Rapid Calculation of the High-Order Meat Grinder Circuit Process in IPPS Systems

摘要
The fast and accurate calculation of circuit processes is the key to the optimization and operation analysis of the inductive pulsed power supply (IPPS) system, e.g., the Meat Grinder circuit, with multiple modules and asynchronous processes. This article proposes two complementary analytical methods for the high-order process of Meat Grinder circuits, which enables fast circuit calculation. Both methods are based on the Laplace transform, one uses the partial fraction decomposition method for a direct solution, and the other uses impedance approximation and initial value matching for an approximate solution. Compared with the numerical simulation and the experiment, the results show that the time required for solving circuit processes by both methods is two orders of magnitude smaller than that of the numerical simulation, and the accuracy meets the requirements. Moreover, the second method has a larger error than the first, but its calculation speed is nearly 30% faster and it can better reflect the physical character of the circuit.
