摘要
recent years, distance learning has become an increasingly popular mode of education due to its flexibility and accessibility. However, the quality of distance learning programs has been a cause for concern, which has led to the development of various approaches and tools for quality assurance and assessment. This review article aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the current state of play of quality assurance in distance learning. The paper discusses the fundamental requirements to establish quality in distance learning and the challenges associated with ensuring quality in this mode of education. Then it explores the different approaches and tools used for quality assurance and assessment, such as course evaluations, self-assessments, and external reviews. In addition, the paper delves into the development of regulatory documents and manuals for quality assurance, which are essential for ensuring that distance learning programs adhere to established standards. It also discusses in detail the importance of audits and accreditations from assessment organizations in assuring quality in distance learning. As the satisfaction of all stakeholders (including students, faculty, and administrators) is crucial for ensuring the success of distance learning programmes, the paper highlights the various measures HEIs can take to ensure stakeholder satisfaction. Finally, the article discusses the processing of statistical data and performance indicators, which can provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of distance learning programmes.
