摘要
Autoimmune diseases are a group of serious immune system disorders that are usually idiopathic and persistent. Currently, autoimmune diseases are often diagnosed after obvious symptoms, and the treatment strategy is only to alleviate symptoms rather than cure. Therefore, timely and effective diagnostic/ther-apeutic approaches are demanded. Emerging nanotechnology based on its exclusive advantages provides new solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases. In this review, we attempt to provide a comprehensive summary of the current state of development and research priorities in this field by bibliometric analysis. Firstly, an overview and analysis of annual publications, the most influential countries/institutions, and publication-related journals for all nanotechnology literature in autoimmune diseases are provided. Secondly, the application of nanomaterials in the diagnosis and therapy of auto -immune diseases are systematically summarized. Finally, the existing challenges and clinical prospects in this field are proposed. This review will benefit readers to understand the research trends of nano -technology in the field of autoimmune diseases and further advance the development of this paramount field.(c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
