摘要
Prostate cancer is the most common (non-cutaneous) cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in US men. Both Black men and men 70-80 years old are at high risk for high-grade prostate cancer. Despite that some groups recommend against PSA- and DRE-based prostate cancer screening in men 70 years of age and older without regard to high-risk factors. The authors present results of a study of prostate biopsy characteristics of men 70-80 years of age to determine whether they harbor a concerning incidence of high-grade prostate cancer and should be offered screening.
