This article is an exhaustive and detailed study of the classical sources that Cervantes uses in Chapters 17 and 18 of the Second Part of Don Quixote. Virgil's Aeneid, enriched with bibliographical elements from Pliny the Elder, Aristotle, Ovid, Cicero, Horace, and Sallust, supports the narrative structure as a guide or basic template, which Cervantes recreates and updates, giving it a new literary life within its pages.
