摘要
In this note, electrically controlled transmission through a defect layered 1D Quaternary photonic crystal (QPC) is demonstrated. This defect layered 1D QPC has six periods of four material layers followed by a defect (D) layer then again six periods of same four materials. Here, a current carrying conductor is kept near defect layer. This current carrying conductor will heat up the defect layer. The temperature of the defect layer will depend upon the current flowing through the conductor. Thus, by changing the current in the conductor, defect layer refractive index and thickness can be changed by thermo-optic and thermal expansion effects respectively; hence the wavelengths transmitted through the defect layered 1D QPC can be electrically controlled. Therefore, computer or Artificial Intelligence (AI) based transmission spectrum control can be achieved in photonic crystals (PCs).
