摘要
Composites are tailormade heterogeneous materials to meet desired mechanical properties for intended applications. Among all the composites, fiber-reinforced composites have gained wide attention because of ease in synthesis and light weight. Issues such as delamination and surface finish during drilling of composites offer challenges. The present investigation uses design of experimentation method for setting processing parameters such as drill diameter, feed, and rotation speed for evaluation of minimum surface roughness and delamination factor for processed natural hybrid composites in different proportions 1:4, 2:3, 3:2, and 4:1 (hemp:pineapple) fiber by keeping epoxy resin of 70% as matrix constituent. Coefficient of variation technique was applied for selecting the composites, which enables minimum delamination factor and low surface roughness/high surface finish. Among all the composites, composite-1 (hemp 6% and pineapple 24%) was the best for the aforesaid properties. Analytically results are well validated experimentally in terms of ultimate tensile strength finding.
