摘要
Culture plays an important role in the goal that literary translation pursues, namely, aesthetic representation. This article uses the concept of cultural adaptation in the theory of translation adaptation, defines cultural adaptation as a transformation or rewriting at the cultural level of the source text in translation in order to fit the linguistic and cultural situation in the target language, and uses the example of the Russian translation of the novel "Fortress Besieged" by famous Chinese writer Qian Zhongshu to analyze various operations of cultural adaptation in the work in terms of both transformation and rewriting in translation.
