CHARACTERIZATION OF ACADEMIC PRODUCTION ON THE TEACHING OF ASTRONOMY IN JOURNALS IN THE AREA OF SCIENCE EDUCATION

摘要
Astronomy, due to its humanistic, historical and interdisciplinary role, is considered an important science, with great relevance for basic citizen education. In this work, we seek to characterize the academic production on the teaching of Astronomy, aiming to provide an overview of the knowledge that is being consolidated by the area of research in science education. From the analysis of the research focuses of the articles on Astronomy published in nine Brazilian science education journals, five categories emerged: 1 - Studies on the conceptions of professors, monitors and/or students on astronomy matters; 2 - Studies on the use of resources, strategies and teaching materials for teaching Astronomy; 3 - Literature review studies on the teaching of Astronomy; 4 - Studies on the context and challenges of astronomy teaching in Basic, Higher and/or non -formal education and; 5 - Studies on the insertion of Astronomy contents in Curriculum Guidelines. In general, we can conclude that the number of researchers and research in the area has been increasing in recent years; however, they reveal major problems linked to the teaching of Astronomy, such as the high incidence of alternative conceptions of teachers and students, in addition to conceptual errors in textbooks.
