摘要
An antenna is required in the area of communication systems anytime where the requirement of wireless communication emerges. An antenna can transmit or receive electromagnetic waves (EM) for communication purposes in situations where it is impossible to install a wired system. A rectangular four-element multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna with an operational frequency band of 22.39 GHz-26.79 GHz suitable for mobile applications is proposed. Four non-bianisotropic split ring resonator metamaterial (NBSRRMTM) radiating elements printed on four separate pieces of superstrates are utilized in this design for enhancing the isolation. Isolation of -55 dB is obtained at 24 GHz by the proposed MTM antenna, which corresponds to a mutual coupling reduction of 30 dB for 0.16 lambda(0) separation among the antenna array elements. This aperture-coupled MIMO antenna attains a maximum efficiency of 77.24% and more than 20.57 dB peak gain in the operational band. This is a compact low profile antenna with the size of 2.4 lambda(0) x 2.08 lambda(0) x 0.416 lambda(0), that attains an envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) less than 0.01 at the resonant frequency of 24 GHz. MIMO systems have better data speeds and improved efficiency without requiring more frequency or energy. So, we apply this strategy to the antennas.
