Perceptions about communicative health and well-being in a group of informal caregivers

摘要
Communicative health plays an important role in the well-being of a person with or without a disability. The aim of the article is to describe the communicative interaction that occurs between a group of caregivers and the people which they take care to identify their perceptions focus on their communicative health. This is descriptive research. 12 informal caregivers participated and they completed a survey based on the communication strategies used in interactions with the people who they take care. The results show that the interaction between the caregiver and the person who they take care. This is characterized by the presence of different communicative intentions, the use of verbal and non-verbal code, the passive role of the person with disabilities, and the active role of the caregiver. In the discussion the authors introduce the criteria to take into account when someone is talking about communicative health in people with disabilities. The study shows the signs that account for communicative health evidenced in the caregiver-person dyad who is cared for.
