The role of prosody in the understanding of polysemous formulae and its lexicographical treatment

Formulas like Ah, ca ! and Tu parles ! have a specific intonation related to their meaning. Therefore, it is important that learners of French as a foreign language can access it. The paper talks about the importance of prosody in conveying the meaning of formulas. Starting from the observation that dictionaries do not systematically offer a prosodic description of formulas and that the corpora are difficult to use by learners, the study offers some thoughts on the lexicographic treatment of the prosody of polysemous formulas.
