Microstructures and mechanical properties of TA1 sintered samples prepared by injection molding using water-soluble binder

摘要
A water-soluble binder was used to obtain TA1 sintered samples prepared by injection molding. The effects of the sintering temperature on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the sintered samples were analyzed. A relative density of >91% is achieved. Some residual carbon and oxygen remain in the sintered samples, affecting the mechanical properties. The tensile strength and elongation of the sample sintered at 1,300 C-degrees are the highest: 592 MPa and 12.95%, respectively. Detailed electron microscopic analysis was performed to identify the morphology and nature of the resultant titanium carbides and oxides.
