摘要
- Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are a collection of degenerative conditions im-pacting the body's bones, joints, muscles, ten-dons, ligaments, and nerves. MSDs affect ap-proximately 1.71 billion individuals worldwide and are a significant cause of disability. Cur -cumin is a polyphenolic compound with anti-in-flammatory, antioxidant, and antitumor proper-ties. In this review, we will discuss the research progress of structural analogs, derivatives, and nanomaterials that can improve the bioavailabil-ity of this natural drug. Curcumin may potential-ly retard the progression of osteoporosis, osteo-arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. These effects may be related to curcumin's targeting of multi-ple signalling pathways.
