摘要
Accepting reality as multi-faceted, duoethnography questions the dominant scientific paradigm, thereby allowing a sharing of unique, subjective, and evocative stories that contribute to the understanding of the social world. As such, telling our narrative, through a storytelling approach modelled by a duoethnographic methodology, we share our own positioning, visibility, and performance while engaging as solo women travellers. Informed by feminist frameworks, we share and compare our lived experiences travelling alone trying to navigate and negotiate within a system positioned for men. Furthermore, on our respective journeys, we wrestle with our own position as feminists and what feelings of anger, guilt, and frustration reveal about ourselves. Our hope is to generate a deeper dialogue around the construction of a feminist identity, reflecting on how one could or should feel while travelling alone as a woman.
