摘要
High-voltage pulsed charging system is of wide application in high-power microwave fields. In this article, a bipolar high-voltage pulsed charging system is proposed through theory analysis, simulation, and experiment. It is composed of a resonant booster unit and an energy supplement unit. The resonant booster subsystem based on two air-core Tesla transformers (TTs) can generate bipolar high-voltage pulses of $\pm$ 42 kV. For the energy supplement subsystem, the charging circuit and energy recovery circuit are proposed for achieving repetition mode operation. By theoretical analysis and simulations of the bipolar pulsed charging system, the required circuit parameters are determined. To verify the bipolar pulsed charging system, an experimental prototype is built and experiments are conducted on different load capacitors. Experimental results show that two 100-nF load capacitors can be charged to 42 kV by the prototype for a burst of 0.2 s. The results are in agreement with the simulation results and show the validity of the bipolar pulsed charging scheme.
