Scientific Journal Culture, Communication and Development: characteristics of the articles published between 2016-2022

The research focuses the behavior of the scientific production of the Scientific Journal Culture, Communication and Development during the years 2016-2022. It is a study of descriptive scope, based on a mixed design where the quantitative data will be complemented with qualitative inferences. Content analysis and metric analysis of 264 collected articles were used as research methods, with which a database was created in the EndNote bibliographic manager. The indicators were defined: articles per year, number of signatures per article, collaboration rate, productivity and author affiliation, participation by gender, and research topics. The years of greatest productivity were 2020 and 2022, when the number of published articles doubled. The largest contribution comes from the University of Cienfuegos and 436 authors were found. Among the thematic lines, studies on organizational communication, communication for development, promotion of cultural heritage, Cuban historiography, socio-religious studies, educational training in adolescents and young people, the gender perspective, and the articulation of science, technology and society stand out. . Finally, evaluations are issued and aspects to be considered by the journal are established so that it can be indexed in databases of international prestige.
