摘要
This study was aimed at investigating the effect of standardized patient simulation training on getting nursing students to gain care providing skill for the individual diagnosed with dementia. The study is a randomized controlled trial. Training was provided to the experimental group (n = 36) through patient simulation method, while the control group (n = 35) was trained through standard curriculum. As a result of simulation training, it was determined that the experimental group students' communication skills, ability to evaluate cognitive capacity, and ability to identify nursing diagnoses and interventions suitable for the individual diagnosed with dementia were higher compared to those of the control group students (p < .05). It was concluded that simulation training was effective in getting nursing students to gain care providing skill for the individual diagnosed with dementia
