摘要
Malignancy of the external auditory canal (EAC) is rare, and adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of EAC is even rarer. It is generally managed by radical resection with a clear oncological margin, followed by radiotherapy. However, local recurrence and distant metastasis are still the major concerns during follow-up. The authors present a case in a 32-year-old female, presenting with a mass in the EAC which was endoscopically removed. Histopathological examination revealed an ACC. Further imaging confirmed absence of distant metastasis and parotid gland involvement. The patient was treated with right modified lateral temporal bone resection and achieved clear surgical margins and thus planned for a long-term follow-up.
