High-performing TiO2 flower-like nanostructures based on flexible MWCNTs for dual-band terahertz absorption

摘要
In science and technology, nanostructures play a vital role in the development of devices based on electronics and photonics. In this research work, we synthesized TiO2 flower-like nanostructures and characterized them using terahertz (THz)-time domain spectroscopy of transmission mode in the range of 0.1 to 3.0 THz. We employed a single-step hydrothermal technique to synthesize TiO2 flower-like nanostructures on semiconducting flexible multiwalled carbon nanotubes without the use of an expensive or complex synthesis or fabrication experimental setup. Excellent wide dual-band absorption was observed between 0.1 and 3.0 THz. The fabricated sample was annealed to increase the crystallinity and surface area of the flower like nanostructures. This resulted in an increase in the amplitude and frequency of the THz absorption. Similar behavior was observed in the study of THz optical density and refractive index. We obtained a novel solution for the enhancement of multiband terahertz absorption and potential application in the field of THz detection.
